La Clusaz ski resort overview:

Nestled in the Aravis mountain range just over an hour’s drive from Geneva airport, La Clusaz is a charming Alpine ski destination renowned for its authentic Savoyard atmosphere. The car-free village centre, with its picturesque church steeple and weekly market, provides a cozy and vibrant base for a ski holiday.

The ski area gathers five linked massifs - Beauregard, Manigod, Étale, Aiguille, and Balme - spanning altitudes from 1,100m to 2,600m, offering a vertical drop of around 1,500m. With about 125 km of slopes (plus 220 km if including Grand Bornand on the Aravis pass), the terrain suits all levels: gentle greens and blues for beginners and intermediates, and steeper reds, blacks, plus outstanding off‑piste terrain at Balme and Étale for advanced skiers.

Freeriders are well catered for - La Clusaz has produced legends like Candide Thovex and features two terrain parks, a half-pipe, and natural backcountry terrain. Cross‑country skiers also shine here: Les Confins (53 km) and Plateau Beauregard (36 km) offer scenic Nordic trails.

Après-ski is lively yet refined, with over 60 bars and 50+ restaurants serving Savoyard dishes - from the beer‑heavy Pressoir bar to live‑music venues like Les Caves du Paccaly. The village also offers non‑ski options like ice‑skating, sledging, indoor/outdoor pools, and horse‑drawn sledging or ski‑joëring.

With snowmaking on lower slopes for reliability, La Clusaz is open mid‑December to late April and combines traditional charm, versatile skiing, and a warm, family-friendly vibe for a perfect Alpine escape.
